Transload Services

At ALL CITY, our transloading services are designed to keep your supply chain moving. Whether you’re transferring freight from ocean container to truck, rail to truck, or any combination in between, we provide seamless transitions that save time and reduce costs.

What Is Transloading?

Transloading is the process of transferring freight from one mode of transport to another—most commonly from an ocean container or railcar to a domestic truck (or vice versa)—to accelerate delivery, optimize load configuration, or meet route and equipment requirements.

At a transload facility, cargo is unloaded, sorted or consolidated, and re-loaded onto the next leg’s equipment, reducing port dwell time and enabling seamless door-to-door movement across multiple transport modes.

When to Use Transloading

Use transloading when:

You need faster delivery after port or rail arrival

The final destination isn’t container-accessible

You’re consolidating or deconsolidating cargo

You want to optimize your freight for LTL or FTL delivery

Most containers are stripped, re-palletized, and outbound within 24 hours—often same-day if appointments are set by 11 AM. Time-critical projects can be expedited with pre-staged trailers.

Absolutely. Every pallet receives a barcode, and our WMS syncs with your EDI/API feed for real-time inventory status, lot numbers, and outbound confirmation.

Yes. We can cross-dock inbound freight directly onto outbound LTL or FTL trailers, eliminating storage fees and keeping your supply chain moving.

Definitely. After transload, we can route freight through our drayage, LTL, or dedicated-truck network to reach your DC or retail locations—one provider, one invoice, zero hand-offs.
